A great comic actor has left us at the age of 83. Gene Wilder will be remembered for his roles in many movies, such as Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, Blazing Saddles, Silver Streak, Young Frankenstein, Start the Revolution Without Me, The Producers, and so many more!
I just watched Blazing Saddles last night, in his memory. He was an outstanding performer, and will be missed.
Thanks for your time.
It's very sad about Gene Wilder. YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN is one of my all time favorite movies.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was. Gene co-wrote that with Mel Brooks.
DeleteSaddened. This has been a terrible year - too many icons lost. Peace.
ReplyDeleteFar too many!
DeleteHe was great indeed. I still haven't seen that western with him and Harrison Ford. I like how he stuck to his guns and wouldn't do anymore movies because he didn't find them funny too, as he said all they did was swear for no reason in the scripts, which is true of many comedies today.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a class act!
DeleteI know that scene well from blazing saddles....This was in front of the KKK...it was too funny and pure Mel brooks.I love all the films you mentioned here but I would add Start The Revolution Without Me-A great comedy and he did his own fencing!
ReplyDeleteOMG! How could I forget to add Start the Revolution Without Me! A relatively little known gem.
DeleteI love Young Frankenstein. I loved Gilda Radner, and she loved him. I hope I spelled Radner right. Is it Radnor? Excuse me while I take a moment to check.
ReplyDeleteRadner. But you knew that.
DeleteYeah. She was a talent that left us far too soon, not that's there's ever a good time.

Another role in which he achieved magic!
DeleteThe Woman in Red - I recently watched this one!
ReplyDeleteThe woman in red
The woman in red
Like fine wine she's going straight to my head
Believe it or not, that's one I haven't seen, for some reason. I';ll have to check it out sometime.
DeleteI enjoyed Gene Wilder's humor and delivery so much. He will definitely be missed! I'd never seen the picture of him with Alice Cooper . . . was that from a movie, or something else?
ReplyDeleteGene Wilder had a short-lived sitcom in the mid-1990s. Alice Cooper guest-starred on one episode.
DeleteWe've lost another movie great. His comic timing was utterly brilliant.

Definitely.
DeleteI was gutted to hear about this. He'll always be the best Willy Wonka!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
He certainly will.
DeleteHard to believe he's gone. What a wonderful body of work he left for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat he did.
