This month I'm participating in the A-Z Challenge.
(For more information, click here.) My theme is Anger
MISmanagement. I'll be posting almost every day in April, skipping only
Sundays. Let's see how I do!
Today's letter is D.
D stands for DERIDE.
I don't know about you, but when something has ticked
me off, or is ticking me off, I tend to insult that something. And, as I'm sure
you fellow babies know – cuz my readers are so smart – “deride” is another word
for insult, usually one that's mocking in tone. Therefore, any variation of that word is fair game for inclusion
here!
Thanks for your time.
I'm the first comment! *jumping up and down*
ReplyDeleteI love the word "deride." It's one of my favorite activities, usually reserved for those who don't get my humor.
Yay, you're first!
ReplyDeleteI was worried "deride" wasn't strong enough for my theme...
It fits well. A common response to being angered is to lash out and insults find their way in easily.
ReplyDeleteBrandon Ax: Writer's Storm
And there'll be more insults throughout the month!
DeleteGood word! Interesting theme you have here. I like it. We can't be sunshine and flowers all the time. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteWell, I certainly can't! Thanks for visiting.
DeleteLike the theme- and the word :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, and thanks for dropping by!
DeleteYou try to hurt someone when they make you angry? Why, that's...that's devious!
ReplyDeleteActually, I don't think I've heard the word deride before.
That's because I made it up! (Jussssst kidding.)
DeleteTo deride something is mean - but can be kinda fun. Did I just admit that?? They have to deserve it first, of course...
ReplyDeleteOf course! And yes, it's mean, but my theme is Anger MISmanagement. I'm nobody's role model. Ha.
DeleteYes I understand what you mean,
ReplyDeletesigh but did you know you hurt these persons??
Gloria, do you really believe I'm recommending that people make fun of other people? Please don't take my posts seriously.
DeleteSometimes are seriously and sometimes are to fun:)
DeleteAnd your answer is seriously lol
Ha. Good point.
Deletehaha!:)
DeleteDerision: I like it even better.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Okay. :)
Deletehaha well if they annoy they deserve it. Then they usually shut up and go away, letting you have a nice day
ReplyDeleteThat's the goal, anyway...
DeleteBeen painting my living room so late to the party. Don't deride me for my tardiness. :)
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to say that your home and lifestyle are more important than my blog? Ha.
DeleteNever! How could you even THINK such a thing! ;o)
DeleteOkay, then I'll let it go this time. :)
