Chickening Out ~~ A "Flash 55" Post

"Chicken again?" he said to his wife. "Almost every night, chicken! Fried... roasted... chicken salad sandwiches... chicken soup...! How about a nice steak, or some pork chops?"

"Excuse my interruption..." said his wife. "The economy's been picking up. Did you bother looking for a job today?"

"Uhhh, no..."

"So, you were saying...?"

"Pass the chicken."

Thanks for your time.

  1. Hey Fox...wherefore art YOU from? Oh yes, that town in New England, I played that burg years ago with the Cincinnati Symphony--but I do not remember it, was too drunk at the time. In fact, they called it Boston back then--grin!

Thanks for dropping by steveroni's blog ("55") today...toNIGHT!

  2. @Steveroni: Massachusetts may be small, but it's not that small, as I love pointing out to my regulars! I've always lived about 50 miles away from Boston... and I don't speak like a Kennedy, either! ;-)

    Thanks for stopping by!

  3. hahaha. chicken tonight indeed! what to do without those chickens! mine here

  6. I don't know. Seems to me like he chickened out. :)

  7. I'm with G-man...I'd take chicken over Spam any day! ;) I hear somebody I know makes delish chicken salad with cranberries and walnuts. yum.

  8. I have been having these same moments with my out of work husband of late! Wonderful 55...

  9. @Betsy: It's hard to "escape" cranberries when you live in Massachusetts!

@everyone else: I'll be checking out your Flash 55s shortly, if I haven't seen them and commented already!

  10. awesome 55.
    enjoyed it very much!

  11. Me, too. Just not every day. Actually, truth be told, I had fried chicken for supper this evening! Life imitating art?
