That Was a Quick Year... (for "Sepia Saturday")

My mom, dressed up for one of my
Aunt Josie's musical pageants.

This Sunday, December 19th, marks the one-year anniversary of my mom's passing.

Good thing for her that I don't hold a grudge. eh? She really torpedoed Christmas.

One of my all-time favorite photos of my mom,
from our 2002 trip to Cancun.

A rarely-seen shot of my dad and mom on their wedding day.

"Pigeon-Toed," another one of my favorites.

Thanks for your time.

  1. There can be few better ways of remembering your mom that sharing photos such as these.

  2. Holy moley, Alan! Were you looking over my shoulder when I posted this?!?

  3. know it will probably be a tough day for you...but great pics...

  4. I join with you in celebrating your mom's life. Love the pictures. I bet she would agree to celebrate not be moaning and groaning. That is what I have asked my children to do. Blessings

  5. What a wonderful way to remember your mum, lovely photos all of them.

  6. I understand completely. My mother died on December 23. Took a long time to put the merry back in Christmas.

Wonderful snapshot of her in costume!

  7. Can't believe it's been a year! She would love these posts you do in her honor! xo

  8. I love that first one up there. She looks pretty impish to me.

  9. I see we are both marking passings with photos this weekend...God bless....Picture her dancing ever after!

  10. I agree that we should celebrate their life, not mourn their passing. But I still get a feeling of melancholy on the anniversary of my Mother's passing. Thanks for sharing your memories of her : )

  11. What a great post! Your mom seems like a wonderful woman.

  12. I'm glad you honored your mom with this post. The photographs are beautiful. That first anniversary is really hard. Remember the best times and that she still loves you even though she's away. Blessings to you.

  13. i also speak of my mom [who passed away in 2007] whose birthday would have been tomorrow... i can relate. but this is something surely she would have loved and smiled kindly upon. remember her well!!

  14. David,
Keep the pleasant thoughts of your Mom in your heart...and thanks for sharing....Paul Howley
