Help Wanted!

Short and sweet, for a change...

In my last post, I told you how I'm going to be running mid-week posts devoted to comic books, cartoons, comic strips, etc. (for a while, anyway). Well, I have lots of ideas, but I'm undecided as to which subject or character(s) to showcase first.

If you're at all interested as to where I'm going with this, please feel free to vote on which one it'll be! Choose from a few subjects I've provided on my sidebar. Polling ends Sunday evening, one minute before midnight.

That's right, I'm actually asking for advice! (Please note the date, as it doesn't happen often!)

Thanks for your time... and your vote!

  1. I want to see you write about "Green Lantern," that intergalactic suckup!

  2. The one near the top right of your photograph - I'm not sure what she is called. Whatever her name, she gets my vote.

  7. I want to see Green Lanten because I saw him at the movies and it was all about outer space. If you don't write about him, then so sad.

  8. @Skip: The "intergalactic suck-up" you mention is the Silver Age Green Lantern. He'll only get an honorable mention in my first GL post.

@Alan: I'm trying to find out who that headless wonder is, never fear!

@Brian: Do you mean Martin Nodell, GL's original artist! BOY, do I envy you!

  9. @Pat: I had an idea, yeah. :)

@Betsy: Oh, don't worry, there'll be a lot of masks and capes in this unofficial series!

@Orlin: Cheer up. Maybe someday I'll post about the Cat Man characters. (There are at least two!) And of course, we all know that there's at least one Catwoman...

  10. @Sharpie: I've read your profile, dude, and I would have bet my entire comic book collection that you'd have picked Starman! So sad...

  11. "lots of masks and capes"? Nice!

  12. @Sharpie: Hm. I'm getting a lot of votes for the Golden Age Green Lantern. If I find out you're padding the votes, I'm gonna track you down and break your glasses... by crushing them against your groin!

  13. I CONFESS!!! It was I, in cahoots with Sharpie to pad the votes! We just wanted to sit back, eat our popcorn and read about Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan, the planet OA, and that sexy teen chick girl. So, you'd better deliver, buster!

  15. Okay. John Stewart, Guy Gardner, Kyle Rayner... there were a few. Not to mention those alien dudes. But I wanna see your take on THE REAL GREEN LANTERN! HAL JORDAN!!! I'm cooking the popcorn as I wait.

  16. Yeah. What Skip said. I want to see Pieface.

  17. I am still waiting : I think if you post a picture of a glamorous (note the spelling) woman on the web the least you can do is to ask the lady her name. You sir, are a cad.

  18. I have a headache. And the only thing that'll cure it is more Pieface!

  19. I think Alan is referring to the blonde in the swimsuit in the Coca-Cola poster. It should be easy enough to track down, as the newsstand photo was taken in June of 1938.

  20. @Sharpie: 1. They don't call that character "Pieface" any more. It's considered an insult. 2. Go away.

@Skip: I've been trying to locate that Coca-Cola ad online. No luck yet. It could have been put up any time during or before April of 1938, when Action Comics #1, cover-dated June 1938, was released. Thanks for your help!
