I knew if & when you saw that sign, you'd comment!!!
It's one of the two Oxford Twin Drive-In signs that were up for years after it closed, until they put the WalMart there, on the Oxford/Auburn line. (Why they called the two screens Oxford & Worcester instead of Oxford & Auburn, I'll never know.)
It took me a while to fake the marquee lettering (right down to the red "replacement" lettering), but it was worth it, I think. I did a mock-up of the other, different sign, too... but it only said "Oxford Twin," and I liked the full title better.
Soon, oh Sparkly One. Soon. Possibly April first. I need a little more wind-down time. I'm taking it easy until I get all my fun test results from my doctor later this week...
Sometime between now and the first, I may throw a really cool "filler" item on here (temporarily), though. Something I didn't write, but something that serves as an inspiration for me as a writer and as an inspiration for this blog as well. I can think of two or three people who will automatically love it. (Or should I say, "automatically heart it?")
And by the way, I know you're only being so nice because you want to make sure I really leave my Dick Tracy ring to you when I die.
Who's bein' nice? I enjoy your writing! Quit being sick. Cut it out. Ix-nay on the ick-say. Also: Make your doctor write posts. And, the cat. Get Orson writing. Enough of this life of feline leisure. No more easy street.
(You are getting sleepy sleeeeeeeeeeeepy...Give me the Dick Tracy ring. Give it to me nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.)
I strongly urge you to sign up for follow-up comments, because I (usually) reply to your comment! Comments left for me more than three weeks after a post is published will not appear until I approve them, but they will be answered eventually!
I remember the music! Oh crap! Help. Brilliant, none-the-less.
ReplyDeleteYou may well be experiencing technical difficulties, but that's a heckuva gorgeous drive-in sign!

GREAT job with the banner and faking the lettering. It rocks.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Shame it'll be coming down in a few days, innit? (Unless... Nahhh, that'd never work!)
ReplyDeleteWhere's the new stuff? Where's the new stuff? Huh? Huh? When's the new stuff coming? Where's the new stuff?
ReplyDelete(Huh?)
*sigh*
