Whatever Happened To...??? -- A "Comical Wednesday" Post

Today's Comical Wednesday post is a quickie, but I needed to do something after not having a CW entry last week.

I'm not the only one who has these last-minute jitters, either...

Ever since I began blogging, I've tried to give my readers the very best.

And I haven't had the energy lately for any David'Z RantZ entries...

I mean, keeping up with a blog can be kinda depressing at times. And at other times, really depressing!

"Okay, okay, Fox! You're a Calvin & Hobbes fan! And say... Whatever happened to Calvin and Hobbes once the comic strip ended in 1995?"

Funny you should ask...

(But here's my favorite take on the subject...)

Now. If you miss my usual long-winded posts, fellow babies, and want something really lengthy to read, here is a fascinating article imagining the cast of Calvin & Hobbes as being "re-born," in a sense... in a movie called Fight Club!

Thanks for your time.

  1. I hate worms on the sidewalk
and toast crumbs in the butter, too!
Along with toothpaste splatters on the mirror and drawers not closed completely.

    among other things.
    lol...

  2. Like washcloths in the sink, and open refrigerator doors, and TMI...

  3. I love Calvin and Hobbes, but I hate those decals people put on their cars of Calvin peeing on things. Is it just that I don't get what's funny about it because I'm so out of it? Foxy, I think Betsy is in love with you.

    Love,
    Lola

  4. I mention worms on the sidewalk and Lola thinks I'm in love with you. Don't know what the link is there! ha.

    And silver..wow..good memory!

  5. yep...give me TMI and I will tell you to back off! lol...

  6. @Lola: Where'd you get that? We are great friends, though. We even have a children's book collaboration on our separate bucket lists.

@Betsy: Yeah, gotta be the worms, haha!

I know what you mean about TMI. Hell, that's why I write so many fictional stories. I can get things out of my system somehow!

  8. @Brian: Innit? And I love the way Calvin's daughter has his blonde hair, but looks like Susie Derkins. Guess Calvin and Susie were meant for each other all along...

  11. Anyone who starts a comment with I hate worms on the sidewalk is totally into you man. It's female code. And you already know about her dislike of TMI. I've seen the two of you write flirty comments at Pat Hatt's and my intuition tells me Foxy and Betsy sittin' in a tree . . . .

    Love,
    Lola

  12. @Lola: Yeah, I figured it was all about the worms.

Betsy and Foxy, sittin' in a tree... with her four sons... and her husband...

Geez, can't wait until Pat lands on this post...

  13. Female code? I just tried that line on my hubs and he said it didn't do a thing for him. lol... ok...let me try the crumbs in the butter one and see what that does...I'll keep you posted. ha.

    Love,
    Lola

  15. @Lola: Your dogs talk to you? No wonder you like Pat's blog, written by a cat! (And wait until you see my cat Orson write a post here, as he does occasionally!)

  18. Good to see you posting again : at one time I thought that the "Retired Too Early" sign might have to be applied to one of the best bloggers around. Yes, you! Now wake up now and pay attention.

  19. Another big C&H fan here! And I swear Bill Watterson must have lived in my neighborhood when I was a kid; I was definitely a Calvin at that age.

  20. @Alan: Thanks. If you enjoyed my "Two Ships" excerpt, by the way, you might like tonight's Theme Thursday post. Just sayin'.

@Roy: Too bad you and I didn't grow up as neighbors. I think we both had a lot of Calvin in us!

(Hm. Funny how none of the guys are gushing about my current avatar like the ladies are...)

  21. haha well wasn't that a nice trip down the comment hole. Had to laugh at the retired too early one and agree with Brian really like the last one.

"Okay Pat shut up, this is too good to pass up. Grammar Nazi actually wants guys to comment on his photo now? Hmm that is wrong some how. LOLA must be talking to her dogs one too many times. If those lines work I'll go out and join a group of mimes. Her intiution needs some fine tuning or maybe a little pruning. Hmm what else to say. TMI from Betsy's way. Pfft sense when? Alright I will leave your den."

  22. @Pat: Wow, Orlin really took it easy on all of us, considering his usual remarks. Must be feeling mellow from a little home-grown catnip.

  23. Ah Calvin and Hobbes...miss them. Back when people actually subscribed and read the newspaper!

  24. I LOVE Calvin & Hobbs and I love quickies for that matter! ;) Sorry...sometimes you ask for it...I'm off to read the longwinded post now....

  25. He is rather restrained at anothers place, just so no unsuspecting blog hopper sees it and trips over their shoe lace.

  26. @VE: Hey! How are ya?!? Yeah, C&H was a classic.

@Natasha: Your comment got flagged as spam again! Good thing I get them in my Gmail. Cute line about quickies, too.

@Pat: Sometimes, I can be even worse on other people's blogs, haha!

  27. Um...do yo expect us to answer the questions at the end of that Metaphilm post? There's not a test right? Fightclub rocked too! but I'll never look at old C&H the same again. From your lovely, diva of spam!!!! Even Pat's blog is now putting me in jail :(

  28. @Natasha: Well, this comment came through! I'm surprised someone actually took the time to read that article, but it was very clever. I guess you meant that, instead of the Foxyblog post that posted by accident earlier today, huh?
