Brief Notes for a Sunday

These don't even count as "Short Shorts." Just a few non-funny observations to fill space.

1. I saw Avengers: Infinity War on Friday and had a great time, but I don't know yet whether I'll bother doing any kind of review post about it.

2. 2018's A to Z Challenge ends tomorrow (Monday), and after that, I'll have more time for my own day-to-day interests, such as writing this blog instead of forty-seven comments per day on other people's blogs. Heh.

3. Some of you people come here only occasionally, which is fine, and there are others out there who come here but don't often leave comments (Right, Roy, haha?). I wouldn't even think of dropping your blogs. But sometime soon, regrettably, I'm going to be deleting two blogs from my sidebar's blogroll. Their authors never come to my blog. One of the two I'll no longer be following is a blog I've been reading for almost ten years, and I don't know why he stopped visiting me quite some time ago. He doesn't even answer most of the commenters on his own blog. The other is a guy whose blog I found through a previous year's A to Z Challenge (2014? 2016?). He read a few of my A to Z posts that year, but since then, he's only shown up here once that I know of, and that's only because I suggested he do so because of a particular post I knew he'd appreciate.

Hm. I spent a lot more time than I expected to spend on that last paragraph. I guess it's bothering me more than I thought I would. So it goes.

See you Wednesday.

Thanks for your time.

  1. A to z is soon kaput indeed, then back to work for me.

Pffft to 3. I don't even sweat that anymore. Not that I ever really did. Don't come, don't engage in anyway, then pffft, see ya.

    1. I had a lot to do today, so it looks like I'll be reading all the to Z Monday posts on Tuesday!

  2. Well, you know I'm not all that into comics, but I do comment on other things (like your quest for knowledge on including music in movies). I just don't spend all that time online these days, mostly just posting things on my blog and posting music on Facebook. Outside of that I'm mostly out hiking or at work. That's my life these days.

    1. Yep, you don't comment often, but when you do, you have something more substantial than "Nice post!" to say. In fact, all of my readers say something worthwhile when they comment.

  3. Yep, it's hard to continue commenting on blogs that don't ever comment on yours. I've dropped a few of those over the years. One person I commented on their blog every single post for years without any reciprocation. Finally got the hint that they didn't care.

So what's shorter than short shorts? Sound like you're down to just the belt loops. haha.

    1. Same with the two blogs I'm dropping. I've been commenting on almost every post of theirs.

  4. Well, I give you credit for your willingness to continue visiting blogs that never reciprocate. I'll be glad when the A to Z is over too many about "me" people.

    Have a good night Silver!

    1. Occasionally, if someone starts visiting me on a regular basis (as opposed to those who sign up on my follower's widget and then never show up again), I'll start visiting his or her blog, and follow them in return. In fact, that's how I started following your blog, True!

  5. I understand. It's hurtful when you invest in someone else (in blogland or real life) and they don't abide by the concept of give and take. They only take My biggest issue is with those I follow and comment on their blogs, but they don't so much as return the follow. That's just rude.

I'm sorry that I don't follow all your posts, SF. I don't follow anyone's every post. I do always visit blogs of those who comment on my posts. That's the best way I can keep up, along with work and life, etc. Just wanted to explain.

    You're a good one!

    1. A good one? Heh. Thanks, Robyn.

I certainly wouldn't demand that everyone read all my posts, even if I had that kind of power. I just hope my readers like what they do read whenever they show up.

It's like with all my comic book posts. Plenty of my readers don't know or care about comics at all, but a few of them do. So, since I write those posts mainly for myself anyway, I do them regardless of the reactions I get! However, I must give several of my non-comic-following readers credit, because a lot of them read my Comical Wednesday posts anyway. I love that.

I strongly urge you to sign up for follow-up comments, because I (usually) reply to your comment! Comments left for me more than three weeks after a post is published will not appear until I approve them, but they will be answered eventually!
