Here's a comic book cover I spotted somewhere on the internet. I regrettably can't recall where I found it. (UPDATE: Duh! I just noticed the website address of my source printed in green at the bottom of the freakin' illustration! This came from a website called Stupid Comics! Unfortunately, I don't know the exact web address of this particular entry.)
A bit spooky, if you ask me!
(I'm pretty sure the head on the left belongs to Fabian. The head in the middle appears to be that of Dwayne Hickman, who was portraying Dobie Gillis on CBS' The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis in 1960. The third head, partially obscured, baffles me. Any guesses, fellow babies?)
Thanks for your time.
The third head kind of looks like Vince Edwards to me.
ReplyDeleteHm. Could be!
DeleteI love comical wednesday !
ReplyDeleteThanks. It's been quite a while since I've done one.
Deleteyes :)
DeleteOK so this gal who looks like a very well endowed 12 yr old has killed these boys and mounted them on her wall as trophies. i wonder who actually bought this comic book?? I have no clue who that kid is on the right but he must not be as famous because he is partially blocked by the serial killer girl
ReplyDeleteI have to wonder if there's a copy of the whole comic online somewhere, or if there will ever be. I'd love to see what kind of story inside refers to the cover... if there is one. (Often, older comics especially had covers that had nothing to do with the stories inside.)
DeleteAnd someday, someone needs to explain to me why everyone's comments on my blog are emailed to me, except for yours!
Hmmm....that's weird and I have no clue
Deletelol Let's just kill some guys that go after jail bait and hang their heads on the wall. Perfectly reasonable comic idea.
ReplyDeleteHeh. That actually sounds like a plot they would have used in the early fifties, when horror comics were all the rage, and before the mid-1950s establishment of the Comics Code Authority.
DeleteI didn't recognize any of them (I'm much too young). I'm amazed by the strap for the young girl's quiver stretched so tightly against her voluptuous boobs. That's some tight sweater. I spent most of high school wearing a denim work shirt with no bra. Wish I could do that now.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Yeah... Who knows whom they were trying to appeal to with that cover?
DeleteNever let my seventeen year old daughter see this! She's a deadly shot. No, I don't "think" she'd go there. Can you imagine the reaction to something such as this on a cover now?!

It's a weird one, and four or five years after they created a governing board to "clean up" the comics.
DeleteI dunno, I think the head on the left is Ricky Nelson. And that much clean-cut scares the bejeebers out of me these days!
ReplyDeleteHey, you may be right about that first head!
DeleteIt would help if the artist had been a little more talented.
DeleteHere is what I think, that doll next to the books is down right scary. Now I may have a bad dream.
ReplyDeleteThat whole cover is scary, to me! :)
