Fixer Uppers

I've included the above photo in random posts, maybe 47 times in my blogging career. But someone recently decided to improve the photo for me. He didn't mess with the colors, but he did a nice job on that tear and the wrinkles, don't you think?

And while he was at it, he improved the following shot of my mom as a child in 1922, being held by her adult sister, Josie -- a photo which you may or may not recognize from this post -- as much as he could. Again, I think the result is worth sharing...

...and then some! Gotta  love technology!

Thanks for your time.

  7. Very nice! The only other thing I would have done was to make the one of you all black and white to get rid of that color variation.

So...do you still have those boots? ha.

    1. Yeah, but who wants a superhero in black and white? Ha. And no, doll, the boots are long gone!

  8. A couple of excellent repair jobs. I must confess that I do enjoy restoring old photographs - it is a very therapeutic activity.

    1. I only wish that the detail in the "superhero" shot enabled it to be blown up to life-size! Ha.

  9. Photoshop is straight up magical. These days anyone can just accuse something of being Photoshopped because it can look so real.

    1. Kinda like how any filmed stunt that's really impressive can be faked and surpassed with CGI? That stuff could turn me into another Jackie Chan with almost no effort!

I strongly urge you to sign up for follow-up comments, because I (usually) reply to your comment! Comments left for me more than three weeks after a post is published will not appear until I approve them, but they will be answered eventually!
